
The 26th Alternative Hair Show 'Emotions' was the platform to launch the 2008 Visionary Awards in support of Leukaemia Research. The show was held at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 19 October in recognition of the worldwide patron Vidal Sassoon’s 80th birthday.
| The winner of the 2008 award was Ken Picton of Ken Picton Salon in Cardiff Bay with his model Sheridan. Ken said “I am over the moon, it’s been an absolutely fantastic opportunity and great to get Ken Picton and Cardiff on the international map.” Ken will now go on to undertake a full presentation at the Alternative Hair Show to be held at the fabulous EventHotel Pyramide in Vienna Austria on May 3 2009. | ![]() |

The finalists each presented a model who was judged on their hair cut, make up, styling, deportment and total image. The international judging panel were Fumio Kawashima from Japan, Ulrich Graf from Germany, John Santilli from Italy, Fernando Romero of the USA and former international creative director of Vidal Sassoon, Christopher Brooker.
